We have been using trail cameras for over 12 years. Having had early ones stolen we have not gone for expensive units, just seeking out best value. Having tried a couple of these out we now have a number of them working 24/7 in our woodland. For the money, we have not found any better. They are simple to use, seem to be fairly weathertight and deliver good sound and vision (accepting their cost). Yes you can get better quality, but you will have to dig deep for it. We also love the full size SD cards, not those stupid little ones that are used in Mobile Phones. You will lose them! The cameras work fine on Amazon Basics high capacity rechargeables, if you exchange them every couple of weeks. Settings, we use the high sensitivity detection level and drop the Video quality back a bit, recording 30 seconds. Picks up the Mice but doesn't miss much that way.

A couple of years ago I bought a trap camera for an Xmas present and it was very well received. So when I recently needed one, that was the one I wanted to buy. Sadly, it's no longer available, but technology has moved on and there are many available. The Wolfang camera looked like it would be a reasonable bet, somewhere between the basic no-frills jobs and the feature overburdened ones. I wanted the option to record short video or a photo when the device is triggered. The WT01 allows you to select either or both at the same time, and additionally to have a number of photos taken (kind of poor man's video, but saves on storage space). Or 'time lapse' where it just takes periodic photos without needing a trigger. I reckon that more than covered my needs! But, on the subject of images, this (and many such devices) are described as '32MP', which in my book means '32 mega-pixels'. I don't know how they manage to work that out because the maximum image size is 2976 x 1680, which resolves to just 5MP. For video is it 2k (2560 x 1440) so a bit less. And, while we're thinking of the not-so-good points, it takes a full-sized SD card. One isn't supplied which, I guess, is fair enough, but most SD cards now would be sold as micro-SD and require an adapter. Often, the adapter is supplied with a card, but it surely wouldn't have hurt to provide one with the camera 'just in case'. In use it is pretty simple to set up. Behind the weatherproof front there is a screen showing what the camera will see, so you don't need to take it down or use a separate screen/phone to use it. Once in place, there is a bright LED that flashes when the sensor is triggered to let you know how it will likely work, but that's there only during setup - after a short period, when it has gone 'live', the LED doesn't light again so there is nothing to show that the camera is there, or that it has been triggered. One thing my original purchase didn't have is a power connector. This one has a DC barrel connector in case you can get power to the location or have a power bank. A potentially useful feature if you don't fancy 8 batteries at a time being replaced. The manual says that alkaline or lithium batteries should be used, but NiMH seem to be OK and just fool the camera into showing they are prematurely flat (NiMH starts at 1.2V, alkaline 1.5V, hence the fully charged NiMH would seem to be near their end when they are not). There is also a USB connector (USB-C as is now the standard) but this is only used for access by a PC since it is covered and inaccessible when the front cover is closed. Overall I think this is a competent tool with a good mix of features: simple if you just want to place it and go, but with useful options if you want to set it up appropriately.

The media could not be loaded. I purchased this unit from the Amazon Warehouse so it was cheaper than the £39.99 presently being advertised for. I'm not sure what the 36MP stands for but its not Mega Pixels. Just thought I would drop that one in first. I have used this unit in a Hedgehog feeding station and it works, the quality of the video isn't fantastic, but its adequate using IR light source, the 5Mp images are okay but nothing to shout about, you won't be blowing them up to go on the wall. The unit was too close to the subject but still provided acceptable images for visibility of the spiky little critters. The video being 2K was okay, having read the book, I still can't seem to get the video to play for the 3 minutes in the menu, but it has met met my needs. A worthy camera for a cheap price, it won't win any wildlife image awards, but for a starter its worth the price. GET it from the Amazon Warehouse, its under £30.00.

So I bought this back in August, and at first it worked brilliantly. It picked up birds in the garden, and cats etc. Then a few weeks ago it said my memory card was corrupted. I reformatted the card, no luck. tried another memory card - no luck again. When I ask the device to format the memory card, it pauses and acts like it has, but doesn't. I have contacted the company via the website, awaiting a response. Ideally I want it replacing as I bought it with a discount. I have come back to update this as I felt the manufacturer should be praised for their efforts in rectifying the issues. I contacted the manufacturer, not expecting much help after reading other reviews, but they got back to me very quickly and asked me to update the firmware on the device. Unfortunately this broke the trail camera completely leaving it totally non functional. Wolfang have since replaced the camera with a better model, which is working brilliantly, I am pleased to report! So yes, had an issue with the initial product, things occasionally go wrong with any manufactured product, and the manufacturer has dealt with it in an appropriate manner under their warranty obligations. Very pleased with their efforts to sort this out!

Decir que no soy ningún profesional ni nada del estilo , soy un aficionado un amante de la naturaleza dicho esto, está cámara me a sorprendido muchísimo lo bien que funciona tanto de día como cuando trabaja de noche , muy fácil de utilizar y te lo dice uno que no le gusta la tecnología, sigamos tiene muy pocas digamos falsas tomas por viento, lluvia etc...si pone que a captado algo casi cien por cien que algún animalillo a pasado delante de la cámara, estoy tan satisfecho que al poco me compré otra más eso sí en oferta flash las 2 cámaras , la recomiendo a todo aquél que sea un apasionado de la naturaleza te creerás que eres un auténtico profesional tomando datos,especies,etc... y verás la verdadera fauna que tienes cerca tuyo que nunca te imaginarias que estuviera hay mismo un saludo !!!
