I've only just started using this camera and my first impressions are really positive. The first most noticeable positive thing is that the camera is really compact and much smaller than many similar cameras. It is a very simple design and this has been achieved by incorporating an internal rechargeable battery which is a great saving on buying the usual eight AA batteries which would be costly (it comes with the necessary USB charging cable and you will need a suitable plug which most will have with their phone chargers). The other thing I found really impressive were the other contents in the box. It comes with the usual tree strap but in addition there's a really useful adjustable stand support and stand support which can either be attached to a wall or wooden post. I intend attaching this mount to a sturdy wooden post which I can move around and then place wherever I want in the garden. That's far more practical than relying on just the tree strap as trees are not always where you want them to be in order to place the camera in the right location. The set up out of the box was really straightforward. The app is good and all of the WiFi/Bluetooth connectivity worked first time. Downloading images and videos from the camera was then really easy, straight to my phone instead of having to open the unit up to remove the SD card (it also has the SD card inserted). So far I have only used the camera indoors as I'm trying to locate how a bat keeps entering our home at night through a gap in a door - it keeps flying into the living room when we're watching TV! The app enables you to set a time interval for when the camera is active, so I have set this up to switch on from 7pm to 8am each day. The camera as the required connection at the bottom to screw into a tripod. There is also great functionality for adjusting hypersensitivity to movement and whether you want photos, videos or both each time. All of this is done easily via the app without having to open up the camera - that's brilliant. The video instructions online are also really helpful for getting started. I'll update the post once I have used it later in the garden, in order to determine how it copes in wet conditions. First I have to locate our resident bat!

The media could not be loaded. This trail cam is packed with features. I have been very impressed with its ability to capture clear footage of the creatures that frequent my garden. Setting up was easy, taking less than than ten minutes and I am able to use it with both my phone and my tablet (after installing the dedicated app). In daylight the camera works well. It can be challenged by mixed lighting such as bright highlights and shadows together, but it does well to capture the action. Best quality is achieved when the light is even such as bright cloudy conditions. The night-time footage is impressive. Clarity is amazing via its infrared system which captures the scene to around four to five metres from the camera before the image becomes dark. Enough to grab the action effortlessly. I love being able to connect to the cam from inside my home even through glass and wall, a distance of around seven to eight metres. Bring able to view the videos and photos on my phone or tablet, and download them in seconds is brilliant. Battery life is good. Leaving it on constantly gives me around three days use, but switching the unit off when you're not using it (for example during the day when night-time creatures are not around) means the battery will last all week or longer. Recharging using my phone charger is easy and quick. In terms of weather proofing, I've had the cam out all night in a long rain shower and it just shrugged it off. If I had one wish for improvement it would be that the camera lens be able to focus much closer than it can. If you're hoping to capture close-up video of birds in your bird bath for example (so the bird fills the frame), this unit will not meet your expectations. The closest I can get it to focus is around two and half metres meaning the video will capture a general scene only. I would happily pay extra for a cam that can focus a few inches away. Maybe a switchable two lens set-up could be the answer. All in all, for the price this is a great trail cam.
